Workshop "My Story, My Feeling"

In the premises of the Psychological and Developmental Center “TakT” in Novi Sad, under the patronage of the Citizens’ Association for the Fight Against Rare Diseases in Children “Život,” two workshops for children titled “My Story, My Feeling” were held. The main theme of the workshops was emotional expression and support for siblings of children with rare diseases or other chronic health conditions.

The relationship between brothers and sisters is often one of the longest and most important personal relationships in an individual’s life. When a child with a rare disease grows up in a family, it is important to understand how this may also affect their siblings.

The workshops involved children aged 8 to 11, and the focus was on supporting children who have a brother or sister with a chronic health condition, including rare diseases, autism, and cerebral palsy.

Through engaging and therapeutically oriented activities, the children explored their emotions in order to better understand their role within the family. The aim of the workshops was to provide a safe space for children to express, recognize, and cope with their emotions.

The workshops were led by psychologists from the TakT Center, Tatjana Krstić, specialist in medical psychology and child psychotherapist, and Jelena Lukić, MA psychologist and family therapist.
